Very important! Registration rules change!

As of 25th of May until July 25th, 2018(inclusively)  registration rules change during the World Cup FIFA-2018 for all foreign citizens regardless of their migration status .

You will have to register within three days starting from your arrival date at the place of stay (or place of residence) in any city where world championship is held (Moscow, Kaliningrad, Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Rostov-On-Don, Saint Petersburg, Samara, Saransk, Sochi, Volgograd and Ekaterinburg).

This means that, either your employer or the landlord (“the inviting party”) will need to register you at the address of your stay within three days after arrival in the city. But be careful, since the 3 day registration also depends on the way the offices of registration could work. So if they work on Saturdays and Sundays you need to count this into the three days.

These rules also apply to highly-qualified specialists. In addition, foreign citizens who arrived in the Russian Federation to the cities of the World Cup FIFA-2018 before May 25, 2018, must also be registered immediately (but anyway not later than on May 25, 2018) with the migration authorities, without waiting for the end of 90-day period established for the Highly-qualified specialists, or 7- day period – set up for foreign employees working based on a work permit and work visa, etc.
