Watch out for Russia Day!

Russia Day is coming up on the 12th of June. Here is what you should know to make the most of this day off!

First, a little organization : don’t forget that roads will be closed in the center around the Red Square from 12 AM until the end of the celebration, and from 9PM on the banks of the Moskva. Here is the map from Moscow Transport

We now get to the most important part, what to do!?

If walking around in the City to enjoy the atmosphere is not enough for you, here is a couple of the events scheduled throughout the city, mostly in parks :
The annual “Samovarfest” will take place at VDNK between 10AM and 10PM : it includes concerts of folk music and dances, a fare with handicraft from all over Russia, as well as acrobats, marionettes and masterclasses for children on decorating gingerbread so you are sure to find something to suit each and everyone !

You will also find more music at Gorky park: the event will be a piano marathon from 2PM to 7PM where participants will play after one another for 15 min each, mixing well known masterpieces with some of their own writing!

Jazz lovers will go to Ismailovsky park where concerts will be held from 1PM to 7PM as well as dancing and acting plays

You can also go to Zaryadye Park on the scene of which the MoSKA-Jazz Orchestra will perform famous songs on Russia in a jazzy manner.
